Some love stories feel as though they've always been part of the family.
Liam and Gracie are high school sweethearts, following in the footsteps of their parents and grandparents, whose own love stories began in high school. There's something especially beautiful about that kind of history. Generations of growing up together, choosing one another, and building a life side by side.
Their wedding day felt like a natural extension of exactly who they are.
A Summer Morning at Hanai Foundation
Rather than a traditional evening reception, Liam and Gracie chose a brunch wedding, filling the day with sunshine, good food, and thoughtful details that invited everyone to feel at home.
Their ceremony took place surrounded by greenery in Hanai's indoor garden space, an intimate setting that brought the natural world into the heart of their vows.
The celebration that followed was every bit as personal.
Guests enjoyed a build-your-own chilaquiles station and pancake bar, a wonderfully relaxed take on wedding dining. A make-your-own bouquet station offered guests the chance to create something beautiful to take home, while yard games encouraged everyone to linger, laugh, and enjoy the afternoon together.
Nothing about the day felt overly formal or hurried. It was a celebration centered on the people they love and the life they're beginning together.
A Love Story Generations in the Making
What stayed with me most wasn't any single detail, although the flowers, gardens, and brunch spread were certainly memorable.
It was the sweetness of the entire day.
Knowing that Liam and Gracie share the same high school sweetheart beginnings as the generations before them made their wedding feel especially meaningful. There was a beautiful sense of continuity, of one love story becoming part of something much bigger.
Liam and Gracie, thank you for trusting me with these memories. Your warmth, sincerity, and the love surrounding you made your wedding day such a special one to photograph.
Here's to a lifetime of growing together, and to the generations of love that brought you here.
